Customers can apply online here or call our partners at DEF (1-888-282-6816) to begin the enrollment process.
  2. Be a primary homeowner or receive landlord permission

The leak repair program is typically reserved for individuals who are primary homeowners. Tenants may qualify for the leak repair program; however, tenants are first encouraged to contact his or her landlord to repair any leaks before inquiring about the program.

Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis. For renters who are having trouble getting the landlord of the property to fix a leak – the tenant may inquire about a landlord permission form. To obtain a landlord permission form – please submit a request to AquaCAP@aquaamerica.com, once complete, send the form to AquaCAP@aquaamerica.com with your account number or address in the subject line.

What types of leaks are covered under this program?

This program is designed to cover the cost of repairs that impact a low-income customer’s water bill such as a leaking toilet or a problem that would cause a loss of service due to termination for willful waste of water. Note: Hot water tanks, boilers, swimming pools, hot tubs, filtration systems are not covered under this program.

How does it work?

If you suspect a leak due to receiving a bill that indicates high usage or simply notice that your toilet may be running, please contact the customer service department to inquire about getting a high usage investigation work order scheduled. A technician can come to your property and investigate the source of the leak.

Once the source of the leak is documented the Aqua customer assistance team will coordinate with local plumbers to get an estimate for repairs. The estimate is then sent to the Aqua CAP team to determine eligibility for coverage. If approved, the plumber will coordinate a date and time to schedule repairs. If it is determined that the necessary repairs cannot be covered by our program, you will be contacted by the Aqua CAP team.

I have already fixed my leak, but my bill is still high, what do I do?

Each customer who demonstrates a need for financial assistance and believes they are income eligible is encouraged to apply to Aqua’s Customer Assistance Program. This program is designed to provide a monthly discount on the customers water bill and assist with a $25 credit towards past due balances if monthly payments are made on time.
