Honoring Women's History Month at Essential

Every year, the month of March is proclaimed as Women’s History Month in the U.S., with the focus on honoring women’s contributions in American history.  What initially started as a week-long local celebration in Santa Rosa, California in 1978, was quickly recognized nationally beginning in 1980, with the support of President Jimmy Carter.  In 1987, Congress passed a law designating March as “Women’s History Month;” it has been celebrated as such ever since.

Celebrating Black History Month at Essential

Each year, the U.S. recognizes February as Black History Month, highlighting the accomplishments of Black Americans throughout history.  This is a time to reflect, recognize, and celebrate the social, political, industrial advancements made throughout history, as well as an opportunity to learn from the past.  At Essential Utilities, we celebrate our diverse workforce and strive to learn from each other through sharing, listening, and appreciating others’ perspectives and experiences to continue building a culture of inclusiveness and belonging.

Championing Working Moms in Honor of Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day has been celebrated since the early 1900s and is an opportunity to honor mothers and their influence in society. At Essential, we recognize our employees are our greatest asset, and we are committed to supporting them in both their professional and personal lives. In honor of Mother’s Day, we sat down with two of our “comms moms”—that is, two members of our communications team who wear many different hats at work, but a most special one at home: mom.

Happy to Help: An Interview with our Essential Customer Service Colleagues

This month at Essential, we’re shining a light on our customer service team members as part of National Customer Service Week. NCSW was first observed in 1984 by the International Customer Service Association (now PACE), and officially designated by Congress in 1992. It has become one of the most observed business occasions around the globe.

Celebrating Essential Workers this Customer Service Week

By Essential Chairman and CEO Chris Franklin

One of our primary goals at Essential is to ensure that it is easy for our customers to do business with our company – from turning on the tap or stove, to seamlessly paying their bill. But when a customer needs to reach out to Aqua or Peoples, that typically means something is not going according to plan with their service. It’s our frontline customer service representatives’ job to help resolve each issue successfully and efficiently, and make sure that every customer has a positive experience.
