Earlier this month, we continued the celebration of our Essential Earth Day initiative by joining the Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy for the 2022 launch of its Floating Classroom Science Program. Aqua is the Conservancy’s main partner of the program, which combines environmental education, kayaking and lab work into one immersive educational experience for local students. The lab is now available for school programming and summer camps for students in grades six through 11.

World Water Day is an annual United Nations observance that started in 1993 with the aim to celebrate water and raise awareness of the more than 2 billion people currently living without access to safe water. Its core focus is to inspire action for water and sanitation for all by 2030. This year’s theme is Groundwater – Making the Invisible Visible and focuses on the critical need to sustainably manage this precious resource.

On Tuesday, March 29, we kicked off our first volunteer event in celebration of Essential Earth Day! A group of Aqua employees gathered at Green Lane Reservoir to participate in a live staking project in partnership with Perkiomen Valley Trout Unlimited and Montgomery County Parks.

While Aqua is committed to protecting and preserving Earth’s most essential resource, water, we are also keenly aware of the energy it takes to move vast amounts of water and wastewater through our networking of pipes.
