August 2, 2024 -- Honesdale, PA customers -- Aqua Pennsylvania crews are aggressively responding to an equipment failure in our Honesdale service area which is causing issues with discolored water. Our test samples show there is no danger in drinking the water.If customers experience discolored water, the following steps can be taken: Let the water run for 5 minutes to see if it clears OR DO NOT use the water for 45 minutes to see if the water clears. If desired, bottled water is available for customers in the affected area on weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at Aqua’s Administrative Office 1775 N. Main Street, Honesdale, PA 18431. We advise customers not to launder clothes until the issue is resolved. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate our customers’ patience and understanding while we work to resolve this issue. September 13, 2024 -- Aqua Pennsylvania crews are responding to a water pipe failure impacting more than 1,100 customers in the Mercer community served by the Shenango Valley Water System. Crews are working as quickly as possible to make the necessary repairs. Customers in the Lake Latonka community are NOT impacted. As a precaution, we are separately issuing a Boil Water Advisory for impacted customers in this area. Aqua customers in the affected area are advised to use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation until further notice. As of Sunday, September 15th at 5 p.m., Aqua Pennsylvania is lifting a Boil Water Advisory in place since Friday, September 13th impacting more than 1,100 customers in the Mercer community served by the Shenango Valley Water System. Customers can resume normal use of water after our test samples showed no danger to drinking water in this area.
