Do Not Consume Advisory: July 11

We expect the Do Not Consume advisory in our Crestwood system to last through this weekend and until the middle or end of next week. We are hauling water to clean the pipes while we fix the issue with our wells. Once the sediment is removed, we will be pulling multiple laboratory samples, which will need to be processed at the lab. That process generally takes 2-3 days.

Until the situation is resolved, we will continue to provide bottled water to Crestwood residents daily from 10:00am to 7:00pm at the Lake O’ the Pines Baptist Church.

Please share this information with friends and neighbors to help us ensure all are aware of the issue.

Customers should not use tap water for consumption.
• Tap water should not be used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, or making beverages or ice.
• Tap water should not be used for pets or animals to drink.
• Tap water should not be used for dishwashing.

Limited Uses of Tap Water:
• The tap water may be used for toilet flushing and washing clothes.
• The tap water may be used for bathing, showering, and hand washing. We advise customers to be careful not to swallow any water when bathing or showering. However, infants and young children should not bathe using tap water since they may swallow some of it. Washing your hands regularly with soap and water can protect you from many illnesses caused by viruses and bacteria.

Please refrain from any outdoor water usage, including irrigation, until we can lift the advisory.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this issue. We will continue to keep you updated until the advisory is lifted.

If you have questions regarding this matter, please feel free to contact customer service at 877.987.2782

Do Not Consume Advisory: July 10, 2025

This is an urgent notice from Aqua sent 07-10-2025, to customers living in the Crestwood water system.

You may have noticed discolored water at your home or business recently. We have been flushing the system and turned on an additional water plant which initially improved the water being provided. However, the water quality from the wells has become more discolored and out an abundance of caution Aqua Texas is issuing a do not consume advisory.

The area included in this notice is:
All consumers of water from the Crestwood public water system.

Explanation of Events:
Water from the wells servicing the system has become very discolored and appears to contain a large amount of sediment. The source of the discoloration is unknown at this time. Aqua is taking action to investigate and resolve the situation as quickly as possible.

Until we are able to restore the system to normal operations all outdoor water usage is prohibited to allow clean water to be hauled and distributed to clear the lines.

Bottled water will continue to be made available at Lake of the Pines Baptist Church between the hours of 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

DO NOT TRY AND TREAT THE WATER YOURSELF. Boiling, freezing, filtering, adding chlorine or other disinfectants, or letting water stand will not make the water safe.

If you have questions regarding this matter, you may contact customer service at 877-987-2782.

You can also find updates on our disruption map.

Breaking Ground And Beating Droughts In Texas

It’s summertime, and staying hydrated is a top priority. But what about hydrating the ground we walk on?

At Aqua, we work carefully to address drought conditions that affect our service areas. That’s why we are so excited about the upcoming completion of our first surface water treatment plant in Barton Creek, Texas, a state that last year experienced its most severe drought since 2015.

To learn more about the importance of this project, we reached out to Scot Foltz, environmental compliance manager at Aqua Texas.
